Opportunity:

RN - ICU/Trauma ICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* First to float policy applies to travelers
* Float to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surg units as needed; in CICU will care for ICU patients, not open heart patients
* No on-call or standby requirement for travelers
* 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU unit with 1:1-2 nurse-to-patient ratio (90% of the time will be 1:2 ratio)
* Must have experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies, or experience with post-TPA patients
* Common patient diagnoses include trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, and ventriculostomies
* Required to titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation
* Must be able to interpret telemetry strips independently (unit secretary will run strips)
* Hamilton ventilators used on unit; Respiratory Therapy assigned to ICU 24/7
* Charge nurse 24/7 (does not take patient assignment); House supervisor available 24/7
* Intensivist in-house 24/7
* 1 Unit Tech for all 30 beds (primarily secretary work)
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy
* Must complete a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite on day one (PASS/FAIL)
* Minimum 2-3 years of ICU specialty experience required; previous travel experience preferred
* Candidates from larger, fast-paced facilities preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS; PALS preferred (required after 6 months if assignment is extended)
* NIHSS certification required
* Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, asking questions, and collaborating well with team members
* BSN not required
* Trauma Level 2 facility

The ICU/Trauma ICU unit operates with 30 beds and is supported by around-the-clock intensivist coverage, charge nurse availability, and dedicated respiratory therapy staff. The facility utilizes Cerner for charting and Hamilton ventilators, reflecting a commitment to advanced clinical technology and high-acuity patient care.
