Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* No holiday requirement
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Float pool position rotating between Med/Onc, 2 surgical units, and 2 medical units
* Floating required to any Med/Surg pod based on staffing needs
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
* Total care model with no PCAs
* No telemetry required, only occasional strip reading with remote tele monitoring available
* Common patient diagnoses include surgical services such as colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic cases, as well as medical conditions including diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and GI conditions
* No drip titration required
* Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment
* Respiratory therapy readily available to assist; RNs are not required to manage RT equipment
* Charting system is Cerner, transitioning to EPIC in November 2026
* 3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
* Staff assigned to need areas; no self-scheduling
* Navy scrubs required; scrubs not provided
* Previous travel experience required
* Basic medical/surgical relevant and current experience required
* Required certification: BLS (AHA)

Facility:

This acute care facility operates as a Level 2 Trauma Center with 128 beds across its medical-surgical units. The facility offers a comprehensive range of surgical and medical services, supporting a diverse patient population with conditions ranging from surgical cases to complex medical diagnoses. The organization utilizes Cerner as its current charting system and is actively transitioning to EPIC to further enhance patient care delivery.
