Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Neuro/Stroke PCU floor experience required, including respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical cases
* Titrating cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring required
* All assignments will be PCU level patients
* Patient ratio: 1:4 with 36 beds and average daily census of 30
* Unit systems: Epic (preferred), Pyxis, SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* No block scheduling
* Every other weekend coverage required
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; no RTO during orientation week
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* Holiday coverage expected: if 1?2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Key skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, CVA management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, titration of cardiac and insulin drips, tracheostomy care, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and transportation
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission

This healthcare facility operates a specialized Neuro/Stroke Progressive Care Unit offering comprehensive care for patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and mixed medical conditions. The unit is equipped with continuous telemetry monitoring and supports a wide range of PCU-level patient needs. Interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams collaborate to deliver high-quality patient care across a 36-bed unit.
