Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekend availability required as needed
* No on-call or standby requirements
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS
* Must be proficient with EPIC charting system
* BSN not required
* Scrub color requirement: navy blue; plain or facility-branded sweatshirts allowed, no hoodies
* Orientation consists of two 8-hour hospital orientation shifts and two 12-hour clinical in-unit orientation shifts with a preceptor during the first week
* Care for patients across all age groups, primarily ages 20-90, with common diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and uncontrolled diabetes
* Perform RN blood draws and read own cardiac monitor strips using GE telemetry monitors
* Administer common drips including levophed, epinephrine, fentanyl, and propofol
* Troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
* Must be comfortable functioning independently in a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients
* Floating between three campus locations, all within 20-25 miles of each other, may be required infrequently to ensure hours
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care emergency department features 24 beds, including 4 behavioral health safe rooms and 2 critical care rooms, along with a 9-chair vertical flow area for fast track patients. The facility is a STEMI and Stroke receiving center and operates with 24/7 in-house security, a charge nurse on every shift, and respiratory therapy support around the clock. The department sees approximately 70-80 patients per day and is supported by ED physicians at all times, with additional mid-level providers during peak hours.
