RN - Neuro ICU
Job Details:
* 12-hour variable day/night shifts
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 24-bed high acuity Neuro ICU with high surgical volume and turnover
* Patients are adults with neurosurgical, neurology, and neurovascular diagnoses
* Travel experience required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* 2 years of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Neuro ICU experience preferred
* Trauma ICU experience preferred
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* California RN license required
* BSN required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, emergency medications, external ventricular drain (EVD), fresh tracheostomy, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation of dysrhythmias, lumbar drains, management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, PICC line management, post craniotomy care, post neurosurgery management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, respiratory failure, spinal cord injury, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning (ETT, NT), titrating cardiac drips, titrating vasoactive drips, TPN/lipids, traumatic brain injury, and ventilator management
* Special equipment used includes: EVD, Camino BOLT, EEG, and CRRT
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius if qualifications are met
