Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts on nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend required
* Holiday rotation required
* No on-call or standby requirement for agency staff
* Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
* Work interchangeably across three MedSurg units (24, 17, and 15 beds respectively)
* Common diagnoses include post-operative general, orthopedic, and podiatry cases, as well as general medical conditions such as DM PN, CHF, COPD, cellulitis, CBI, BiPAP, peritoneal dialysis, surgical drains, and wound vacs
* RNs are not required to titrate drips
* Telemetry patients are centrally monitored by monitor techs; RNs do not read tele
* Respiratory therapy manages RT equipment including BiPAP, high flow, and Vapotherm
* Floating may be required to ICU or Tele to accommodate MedSurg overflow, within scope of practice only
* Nurse aids available on unit with assignments based on acuity
* Charge nurse carries patients; house supervisor available 24/7 without a patient assignment
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Professional scrubs of any color required
* 2-shift department-specific orientation provided
* Minimum 2 years of recent post-operative recovery experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certification: BLS
* Illinois nursing license required
* BSN not required
