Opportunity:
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT)
Job Details:
* Blood bank and microbiology experience preferred
* Perform accurate analyses on blood and other body fluids for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease
* Maintain proficiency to work in all clinical departments of the laboratory
* Prepare specimens for processing including accurate identification, logging, and entering patient information
* Process and analyze specimens using manual or automated methods to determine qualitative or quantitative results
* Ensure quality control criteria are met before releasing any reports
* Review results for accuracy and completeness before releasing
* Perform specimen collection duties and verify patient identification prior to collection
* Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment daily
* Assist with training of technical personnel as requested by supervisor
* Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance activities
* Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and quality assurance procedures
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
* No previous experience required
* Required certification: Certified MT or MLS with ASCP, AMT, NCCLS, or equivalent certification
