Opportunity:

RN - Med-Surg Colorectal

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend schedule required
* Holiday work assigned on a rotating basis
* On-call requirement may apply as a last resort for travelers
* Floating to other units is required
* Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 during day shift and 1:6 during night shift
* Care for patients with colorectal conditions including colorectal cancer, ileus, osteomyelitis, sepsis, and pneumonia
* Titrate drips including amiodarone, heparin, insulin, and Cardizem
* Troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment including High Flow and BiPAP devices
* Read and interpret own EKG strips each shift using GE tele monitors with virtual monitoring only
* Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
* 3-shift unit/department-specific orientation required
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS
* Medical/surgical nursing experience required

This acute care facility operates a 30-bed Med-Surg Colorectal unit specializing in the care of patients with colorectal conditions and post-surgical recovery. The unit is supported by a collaborative staffing model that includes charge nurses, LPNs, and patient care technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care. The facility utilizes modern monitoring technology and EPIC as its charting system, providing staff with the tools needed to deliver high-quality patient care.
