2S Med Rehab RN

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week - discuss preference with manager
* Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
* Float within scope to Med Surg as needed to meet facility needs
* No on-call requirement
* Block schedule requests considered - discuss during interview
* 24-bed Medical Rehabilitation unit
* Patient diagnoses include cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputees, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Nurse-to-patient ratio: Days 1:4/5, Nights 1:5/6
* Each patient has an assigned care team including a physiatrist, NP, nurse, therapists, and social worker who collaborate on patient care plans
* Therapy works with patients 3 hours per day Monday through Friday; average length of stay is approximately 2 weeks
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Minimum 1 year of in-specialty experience required
* Charge experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certification: BLS (AHA required); acute care rehab certification preferred
* Cerner charting system experience required
* WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
* Scrub color: Royal Blue/White or combination
* Parking garage available at no cost for travelers
* Orientation held every other Thursday; 16 orientation hours

This facility is a short-term acute care Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, serving as a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH). With 855 total staffed beds, the facility provides comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services supported by a robust interdisciplinary care model. The Medical Rehabilitation unit specializes in treating complex neurological and physical conditions, with a collaborative team-based approach to patient recovery and care planning.
