Opportunity:

Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Weekend requirement every other weekend (night shift includes Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
* Holiday rotation with regular staff
* Nurse to patient ratio no more than 5:1
* Must have EPIC experience - required
* Strong med/surg background required due to variety of patients
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS for all RNs and LPNs
* ACLS and PALS recommended but not required
* Must submit unexpired copy of driver's license with application
* Floating required - med/surg frequently floats to assist other units
* No call or standby requirements
* No RN titration of drips required
* Care for patients with chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic cases, detox, post-op surgical patients, and pediatric patients
* Unit accepts any patients except laboring mothers and those requiring titrating cardiac or insulin drips
* Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPap, and high flow oxygen
* 3-5 days of unit-specific orientation including policies, medication training, pharmacy and lab training
* Dress code allows any scrub colors except camo or orange
* Manager creates schedule but is open to working with traveler preferences and block scheduling

This acute care facility operates a 32-bed medical/surgical unit that provides comprehensive care for a diverse patient population. The facility utilizes EPIC charting system and maintains modern respiratory therapy equipment and ICU monitoring capabilities.
