Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts, weekdays and weekends
* Patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity, with potential for step-down level of care overflow patients
* Must have ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience
* Must be experienced in direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR
* Must be proficient in pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management
* Must be experienced in Impella monitoring and CRRT
* 2+ years of experience required with cardiac surgery skills
* May occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
* Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics
* 10-bed unit with a daily census of 4
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Special equipment includes Impella CP and IABP
* Charting system: Cerner (preferred experience)
* Scrubs not provided
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* WV or Compact License required
* Blocked schedules will be considered
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension

Facility:

This facility is home to a 10-bed Cardiac Care Unit that primarily serves cardiothoracic surgery patients, including those undergoing CABGs, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, carotid endarterectomies, and more. The unit also cares for complicated cardiac cath lab patients, medical cardiology patients, STEMIs, cardiogenic shock patients, and post-code patients. The facility is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and offers comprehensive specialty services to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
