Opportunity:
RN - PCU
Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population includes adolescents through geriatrics
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Neuro/Stroke PCU floor with respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patient assignments
* Titrating cardiac drips required with continuous telemetry monitoring
* Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 with 36 beds and average daily census of 30
* Unit systems include Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* No block scheduling
* Every other weekend required
* Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* All RTO must be finalized at time of submission; no schedule changes post-offer or on-site
* No RTO permitted during orientation week (Monday?Sunday)
* Holiday work expectations: if 1?2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
* Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, chest tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, tracheostomy care, titration of cardiac and insulin drips, PICC line management, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and transportation
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Epic charting system experience preferred
