Medical Assistant

Job Details:

* 5 x 8-hour day shifts per week
* No weekend requirements
* No on-call requirements
* Temporary to permanent role
* Local candidates only (within 50-mile radius)
* Minimum 6 months of experience required; at least 1 year preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* MA-C certification required (MA-R not accepted)
* BLS certification required
* Reliable personal transportation required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Healthcare terminology knowledge required
* Room patients and prepare charts
* Answer patient questions via phone and MyChart
* Process patient paperwork as needed
* Perform hearing screenings and vision testing
* Obtain vital signs and record patient history, medications, and allergies
* Administer nebulizer treatments and immunizations
* Label specimens and collect throat and urine samples
* Perform venipuncture and blood glucose testing via glucometer
* Conduct telephone triage and follow-up phone calls
* Administer TB tests and perform suture removal
* Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests
* May float between sister facilities within skillset as needed
