Job Details:
* Self-scheduling with no block schedules required
* Weekend shifts required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios: 1:4 on days and nights, 1:5 on weekends
* Position may float between units
* 48-hour shifts are not approved
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system experience required - any system accepted
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Required skills include: telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, neuro stepdown, remote telemetry monitoring, CVA, intracranial bleeds, craniotomy, aneurysms and repair, pre/post neurosurgery, post TPA care, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, and substance withdrawal
* Special equipment used includes Viking Lift, Sara Steady, and Hoovermat
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN): solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire; scrub tops may have colored piping; print tops are not acceptable
* Free parking available in any unrestricted surface parking lots designated for Employee/Visitor Parking
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility is a 379-staffed-bed hospital and a designated Level II Trauma Center. The facility operates a Neuro Telemetry unit with 29 beds and a daily census of approximately 27 patients. The unit is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and features a dedicated 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for continuous EEG monitoring. Most admissions come from the ED, ICU, or PACU, and the unit utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach working closely with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. The facility uses EPIC as its electronic health record system and provides robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.
