Job Details:

* Night shift position with schedule of 3x12 or 4x12 hours on weekdays and weekends
* 26-week contract with possibility of extension
* Patient ratios of 1:5-7
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Travel experience not required
* Blocked schedule: unit cannot guarantee schedule requests but will try to accommodate travelers
* No scrubs provided
* Charting system: Cerner (experience required)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be through American Heart Association)
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles from the facility
* Facility will only tolerate 2-3 call offs per contract
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, CVA care, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube care, heparin and insulin administration, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, PICC line management, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Primarily caring for adult patients

Facility:

This facility operates a 34-bed acute medical-surgical unit managing patients with a wide range of diagnoses and complex care needs. The unit maintains a daily census of 25-30 patients and operates in a fast-paced environment where nursing staff and clinical assistants are adaptable and prepared to handle complex situations. The team emphasizes teamwork, compassion, and evidence-based practice to ensure safe, high-quality care, with a strong balance of experienced and novice staff members working together to deliver excellent patient care.
