Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts scheduled per unit needs
* Every other weekend required
* No block schedules required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Float between units as needed to meet unit requirements
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH scale
* Must be proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Unit holds a Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation and NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center designation
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital operating as both a Level II Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a dynamic and educational environment for healthcare professionals. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support.
