RN Mother Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum
Job Details:
* Night shifts with various days of the week
* Call required per unit needs with 1-2 call shifts per 6-week schedule
* Weekend requirement per unit needs - minimum 5 Friday/Saturdays and 2 Sundays per six-week schedule for night shift
* Float required - Antepartum trained to float to L&D with fetal monitoring experience
* Typical patient ratios of 1:3 couplets or up to 6 patients
* 32-bed unit
* Charting system: Epic (preferred)
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* 1 year of specialty experience required
* Travel experience required - first time travelers not accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Active RN license (state or compact) required
* Patient population includes postpartum patients who do not require ICU level of care, high risk patients, antepartum patients with fetal monitoring experience, and newborns who do not require NICU level of care
* Newborn population includes 2000gm and above, late preterm, substance exposed newborns, and phototherapy patients
* Experience with magnesium drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, PCA and PCEA pumps required
* Provide breastfeeding support for postpartum patients
* Special equipment includes JADA and Bakeri
* Required skills include antepartum care, couplet care, newborn assessment, fetal heart monitoring, postpartum hemorrhage management, magnesium sulfate therapy, phototherapy, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and administration of blood and blood products
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
* Self-scheduling
