Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

* Work on a 36-bed medical surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
* 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week block
* Float over core staff as needed
* Scrub colors permitted: Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, and Ceil Blue
* Perform basic patient assessments and general care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
* Manage patients requiring dialysis using PD Cyclers and PCA pumps
* Administer Heparin drip as the primary IV drip on the unit
* Support post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
* Conduct bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1-2 hours with a focus on communication and responsiveness
* Maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
* Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
* Adhere to fall prevention protocols
* Document using Meditech electronic documentation system
* Work with equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS

Facility:

This facility's 12 Tower unit is a 36-bed medical surgical floor supported by a secretary every day and PRN technicians. The unit fosters a collaborative and youthful team environment with experienced and supportive charge nurses and leadership to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. All contractors are treated as core staff and held to the same level of accountability and recognition for their contributions to patient outcomes.
