Job Details:

* Work on a 36-bed surgical unit within the Main Tower building
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* 8 bedside RNs per shift with charge RN support on day shift
* Day shift includes 8 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 1 Unit Secretary, 1 Manager, and 1 CNC
* Night shift includes 8 RNs
* Fast-paced unit with short length of stay requiring strong time management and efficiency
* Teamwork-oriented environment requiring collaborative approach to patient care
* Background in post-operative surgical areas preferred, including vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, and colorectal
* Perform maintenance of post-operative surgical procedure sites
* Wound care including packing, dressing changes, and wound vac maintenance
* Foley catheter care including continuous bladder irrigation
* Ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
* Nasogastric tube insertion and suction
* TPN administration
* Blood administration
* Central line care and dressing changes
* Bedside shift report required
* EMR system: Meditech
* Equipment includes bariatric fitted ADLs, wound vacs, drains, and lifts
* Scrub color requirements: Black, Grey, White, or Royal Blue
* Floating to Medical-Surgical units may be required
* Prompt attendance, open communication, professional appearance, and attentiveness to patient needs required
* Required certification: BLS

This facility is a large medical center housing a dedicated 9 Tower Surgical unit with 36 beds and a team of 40 RNs. The unit specializes in post-operative surgical care across a variety of surgical disciplines including vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, and colorectal procedures. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and emphasizes prompt attendance, professional appearance, and attentive service to meet patient needs.
