Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of ER/Trauma Level 1 experience required - must be recent within the past year
* 12-hour shifts with varying start times - travelers must be flexible to work ALL shifts listed (mandatory, no exceptions)
* Day/Mid shift start times: 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 1:00 PM
* Night shift start times: 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 7:00 PM
* Minimum 4 weekend shifts per schedule period required
* Must work 2 of 3 major holidays during the holiday season
* Unit consists of 60 beds, including 14 fast track beds with bedside triage
* Patient ratio of 1:3-4
* Charge nurse and unit secretary support available on unit
* Float between two ER locations approximately 7 miles/15 minutes apart, possibly during mid-shifts
* Floor-specific orientation is 2-3 days
* Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer through UNA with a maximum of 2 attempts
* Pass/Fail simulation lab on day 1 of orientation
* Common patient diagnoses include trauma, MVAs, GSW, blunt and piercing trauma, CVA (stroke center), MI (chest pain center), high-risk OB, psych holds, cardioversions, conscious sedation for closed fractures, and 11% pediatric population
* Patients under age 15 are stabilized and transferred; facility admits patients 15 and older only
* Scrub color: Navy
* Equipment includes GE Lifepack monitors, Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60 ventilators
* Charting system: Cerner
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Pharmacy available 24/7 with ER pharmacist on days, 5 days per week
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS or ENPC, ATCN or TNCC, and moderate conscious sedation competency testing

Facility:

This Level 1 Trauma Center operates a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 80,000 visits per year. The facility is a certified chest pain center and certified stroke center, equipped to handle a wide range of critical and complex cases. The emergency department is supported by 2-6 physicians and 2-4 midlevel providers in house, along with paramedics, CNAs, and a dedicated unit secretary to ensure comprehensive patient care.
