Job Details:
* Day shifts available from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Weekend rotation required - out of 8 weekend shifts per schedule, must work at least 4 (may be back-to-back)
* Holiday rotation required
* No call required; option to pick up call shifts available
* All time off requests require manager approval
* Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery required
* Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment at a facility comparable in size and acuity
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), MOAB
* Required skills include: titrating Pitocin, fetal scalp electrodes, cervical exams, assisting CRNA with epidural placement, management of insulin drips and magnesium drips, shoulder dystocia management, circulating C-section and/or receiving baby in OR, neonatal resuscitation, assistance with placement and monitoring of IUPC
* Newborn care skills required including lactation support and safe skin-to-skin protocol
* Charge nurse experience should be noted at time of submission
* EMR system: Cerner with Fetal Link
* IV pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Fetal Monitoring: Fetal Link
* Patient ratios: Cervical Ripening 1:1-3, Laboring 1:1-3, Active Labor 1:1, Couplet/Postpartum/Antepartum 3 Mother/Baby couplets or 3 Antepartum/NICU moms
* May float to Mother Baby unit for Antepartum, Postpartum, or occasionally Mother-Baby assignments
* Orientation includes 1 day with HR/preceptor, 1 day of OR training/PACU, and 1 day with preceptor on contracted shift
* Navy scrubs required - provided on site via scrub machine (6 credits allotted); street clothes worn to and from facility

Facility:
This facility is a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit averaging approximately 1,800 deliveries per year, with 4 scheduled events daily including C-sections and versions. The unit features 7 labor rooms, 2 triage rooms, 2 OR suites, and a 25-bed Postpartum/Antepartum/GYN/Mother-Baby area. The facility houses a Level III NICU and serves as one of only two NICUs in the state, covering a large geographical area with a high volume of referrals. The unit operates under a rooming-in model and maintains 24/7 support including anesthesia, charge nursing, respiratory therapy, house supervision, OB provider on-call coverage, and certified midwife availability.
