RN - Orthopedics

Job Details:

* Work on a 32-bed orthopedic unit with individual patient rooms
* Day shift patient ratio is 5:1 (6:1 stretch) and night shift patient ratio is 6:1 (7:1 stretch)
* Day shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 3 PCTs, and 1 HUC
* Night shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 HUC
* Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter care, NG tube management, and wound vac maintenance and removal
* Operate equipment including walkers, bedside commodes, bladder scanners, CPM machines, sky lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Lift, Maxi Move, vital sign machines, hover mats, bair huggers, and wheelchairs
* Use Cerner as the electronic medical records system
* Float to other Med-Surg units as needed
* Work every other weekend
* RNs must wear navy scrubs
* North Carolina nursing license required
* BLS certification required
* Hospital experience preferred
* Orthopedic experience preferred
* Must be a team player with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
