LTC LVN/LPN

Job Details:

* 4x12 or 3x12 variable shift schedule (traveler's choice)
* Shifts will be either days or nights based on facility needs at time of start date - caregivers are not asked to rotate between night and day shifts except for occasional urgent staffing needs
* 13 or 26 week assignment duration (traveler's choice)
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2 weeks - traveler may be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
* Patient ratio of 1:20
* No on-call required
* Previous travel experience required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* LTC experience required
* Alaska LPN/LVN license must be in hand prior to submission
* Required certifications: BLS
* Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
* No more than 1 week of RTO for a 13-week contract; no more than 2 weeks of RTO for a 26-week contract - all RTO must be submitted at time of submittal
* Scrub color: Any
* Charting system: ECS - charting system experience required
* Parking is free
* Facility will pay for shuttle to and from Anchorage at the beginning and end of the assignment; local shuttle in Seward available for local transportation needs
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Candidate permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
* All caregivers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification during orientation on-site at the facility at a one-time cost of $10
* Required skills include: accuchecks, implanted glucose sensors, PEG tube/G-tube feedings, Duopa pumps, IV hydration PRN, phlebotomy lab draws, peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous only), respiratory treatments (nebulizers), and wound care
* Special equipment includes: lifts, vital sign machines, glucose monitors, Sara Steady, pacemaker transmitter, and EKGs
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, plegics, cognitive impairments, physical impairments, and other LTC-appropriate diagnoses

Facility:

This long-term care facility operates with a total of 40 staffed beds and 10 rooms, providing specialized care to adult and geriatric populations. The facility offers interdisciplinary support including social services and is equipped to handle a variety of complex patient diagnoses and care needs. The facility provides a supportive environment for traveling clinicians, including complimentary parking and transportation assistance.
