Sterile Processing Tech

Job Details:

* Monday through Friday schedule, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
* 5x8-hour shifts per week
* Guaranteed 72 hours per 2-week period; traveler may be called off for 1 eight-hour shift per 2-week period
* No on-call requirements
* No weekend requirements
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Required certifications: HSPA or CBSPD certification required (not both); accepted certifications include NBSTSA, CSPDT, CBSPD, or IAHCSMM/HSPA
* Charting system experience required; Epic utilized at facility
* Scrub color: Any or business casual attire
* Free parking available on-site
* Process and sterilize instruments for surgical cases including general surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy, OB/GYN, podiatry, ENT, urology, and dental
* Required skills include: acute hospital OR, cleaning equipment (crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps), high-level disinfection (HLD), use of washers/sterilizers, case cart management, proper selection of wrapping materials, sterilization wrapping procedures, sets/trays assembly, equipment documentation, biological indicators, chemical indicators, steam sterilization testing/monitoring, and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS)
* Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
* 40 orientation hours required

Facility:

This acute care medical center also encompasses long-term care and outpatient services, operating as a Level IV Trauma and Critical Access Hospital. The facility features 46 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds, supporting a broad range of surgical specialties. The surgical program focuses primarily on general surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy, and OB/GYN, with additional services in podiatry, ENT, urology, and dental care.
