Job Details:
* Float between units including Mother/Baby or functionally elsewhere in the facility as needed
* No on-call required
* Some weekend shifts required
* Patient ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3
* 48 hours approved
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* At least 1 year of L&D experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
* High risk labor and delivery experience required including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
* Required skills include but are not limited to: administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, assist with high-risk delivery, cesarean section circulation and scrubbing, epidural anesthesia, magnesium sulfate therapy, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum hemorrhage management, and use of external and internal fetal monitoring
* Additional procedures include insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, PUBS, cerclages, versions, and high-risk MFM patient care
* Facility delivers approximately 3,600 deliveries per year
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
Facility:
This facility is a Short Term Acute Care hospital with Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designations. With 629 total staffed beds, it operates as a teaching hospital offering comprehensive interdisciplinary support services. The Labor and Delivery unit consists of 25 rooms and 27 beds, with a daily census of approximately 9 patients and a high volume of deliveries, supporting a wide range of high-risk obstetric and maternal-fetal medicine cases.
