Job Details:
* Position will float between units including Mother/Baby or functionally elsewhere in the facility
* No on-call required
* Some weekend shifts required
* Patient ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3
* 48-hour shifts are approved
* Block scheduling type
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* At least 1 year of L&D experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
* Charting system: Epic experience required
* Must be comfortable with high-risk labor and delivery including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
* Key skills include: administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, assist with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulating and scrubbing, epidural anesthesia, magnesium sulfate therapy, neonatal resuscitation, external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, postpartum hemorrhage management, and triage of obstetrical patients
* Additional procedures include: insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, cerclages, versions, and high-risk MFM patient care
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during compliance process prior to start
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
Facility:
This is a short-term acute care facility and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. The facility operates as a teaching hospital with 629 total staffed beds. The Labor and Delivery unit features 25 rooms and 27 beds with a daily census of approximately 9 patients and approximately 3,600 deliveries per year. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
