Job Details:
* 3 years of Social Work experience required; Emergency Department and teaching hospital experience preferred
* Short-term acute care inpatient Medical Social Worker experience required
* Supports Case Management, Emergency Room, and Pediatric Emergency Room services
* Day staffing ratio is 1:18; weekend staffing ratio is 1:50
* 2 weekends per month required
* No on-call required
* Floating within scope required based on facility needs
* Responsibilities include conducting initial evaluations, assessing response to treatment, developing plans of care, identifying patient and caregiver needs, and coordinating discharge resources
* Experience with collaborative care, coordinating home care and equipment, multidisciplinary teams, care conferences, and referrals to additional disciplines or rehabilitation and long-term care facilities required
* Advance directive experience required
* Department has an average daily census of approximately 420 patients; patients are adults
* Charting systems: Cerner and AllScripts (Cerner experience preferred)
* Dress code: Business casual or any color scrubs
* Required certifications: MSW, Maryland LMSW or LCSW
* Valid Maryland LMSW or LCSW license required
* Block scheduling not available
* RTO: System will auto-approve 14 days or less; every other winter and summer holiday required with no RTO approved; no RTO on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day

This is a large, well-established hospital located in Baltimore, Maryland, offering a full spectrum of medical services across multiple departments including Emergency, Case Management, and Pediatric Emergency Room. The facility utilizes an interdisciplinary support model that includes IV teams, physical therapy, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. With an average daily census of approximately 420 patients, the department serves a diverse patient population with a wide range of diagnoses, with a preference for providers experienced in geriatric and adult acute care populations in metro settings.
