Opportunity:
Physical Therapist
Job Details:
* Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician
* Administer treatments and physical agents per individualized Plan of Care to restore function
* Assist patients in reaching maximum performance and level of functioning
* Coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to supportive physical therapy staff
* Ensure patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis
* Observe and evaluate treatment effects and recommend changes to physician as needed
* Perform appropriate assessments on all patients including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient population
* Formulate teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning with family involvement as appropriate
* Manage and operate therapy equipment safely and correctly
* Interact professionally with patients and families and involve them in the formation of the plan of care
* Communicate appropriately with physicians, staff, and administrative team
* Maintain records pertinent to personnel and department operations
* Participate in infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, quality, and fire safety programs
* Current Illinois State Physical Therapy Licensure required
* Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or accredited college or university with a certificate in Physical Therapy required
* Current BCLS (CPR) certification required
* Experience in all aspects of physical therapy required
* Strong written and verbal communication skills required
* Basic computer knowledge required
* Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology required
Facility:
This critical access hospital is located in a rural setting and is currently licensed for 18 inpatient beds. The therapy department is over 90% outpatient, treating patients of all ages and diagnoses, with the remaining 10% focused on inpatient and swing bed patients. The interdisciplinary therapy department consists of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, working collaboratively to provide comprehensive patient care.
