Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg Ortho/Neuro

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM (day or night shifts available, with flexibility for 8-hour shifts)
* 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Every-other-weekend requirement (nights: Friday/Saturday/Sunday; days: Saturday/Sunday)
* Rotating holiday schedule based on unit needs
* Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for both shifts
* 21-bed unit with a mix of private and semi-private rooms
* Acute care setting
* Float to any MedSurg unit as needed (no floating to ED or Behavioral Health)
* Chart using EPIC EMR system
* Use B-Braun IV system; no IV team on site
* Administer IV drips including Heparin and Protonix (no titrating or cardiac drips)
* Monitor telemetry remotely; must have basic arrhythmia knowledge and ability to recognize fatal rhythms
* Manage patients on Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow respiratory equipment
* Work with common diagnoses including total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, seizures, craniotomies, brain stimulation, traction procedures, and MedSurg overflow
* Charge Nurse available 24/7; Hospitalist in house 24/7; Respiratory Therapy in house 24/7; Pharmacy in house 24/7 with Omnicell
* One orientation shift with a preceptor including Net Learning Modules and EPIC training
* Schedule requests submitted through Kronos at least 2 weeks in advance for 4-week blocks; block scheduling allowed if in contract
* Required certification: BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred
* BSN not required; West Virginia nursing license required
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, navy or white jacket, white or navy undershirt, natural hair color only, excessive or distasteful tattoos must be covered
* Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

The unit is supported by 24/7 on-site services including a Charge Nurse, Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy, ensuring continuous clinical support for staff and patients.
