Job Details:

* Perform clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and instrument maintenance under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager
* Perform routine and special laboratory tests in accordance with physician requisitions across one or more areas of specialization
* Recognize test inconsistencies and take appropriate corrective action
* Call critical test results to physicians or nurses immediately and according to established criteria
* Prepare test reports legibly, reviewing for clerical accuracy and clinical indications
* Run quality control tests, analyze data, and take corrective action when results fall outside acceptable limits
* Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory instruments
* Document all instrument checks, preventive maintenance, routines, problems, and corrective actions
* Perform specimen collection and processing duties as needed
* Maintain files pertinent to the laboratory area and restock daily supplies
* Participate in departmental on-call schedule requiring a 30-minute response time
* Assist with inventory control, requisition of supplies, and quality assurance activities
* Must be familiar with Vitros equipment
* Associate Degree in Medical Technology required
* ASCP certification or equivalent nationally recognized Medical Technology certification required within one year of hire
* Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of hire
* Mathematical, reasoning, and language skills at the college level required
* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently
* Must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high standards of courtesy and cooperation
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Appropriate work attire and visible nametag required at all times
