Open Position: Lab Specialist - MLT

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2061.20

Opportunity:

Medical Technician

Job Details:

* Evening shift, Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with weekend and holiday rotation
* No on-call requirements
* Weekend rotation consists of 2 full weekends on followed by 4 weekends off
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
* Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline required
* Certification as a Medical Technician by ASCP BOC or equivalent, or relevant specialty lab certification required
* Chemistry experience required; Hematology and/or Chemistry experience highly preferred
* Prepare specimens for testing and perform routine and specialized laboratory tests
* Perform quality control and troubleshoot quality control errors and maintenance procedures
* Recognize and evaluate computer data problems and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
* Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments
* Communicate technical information to medical and non-medical personnel
* Assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures
* Participate in continuing education activities
* Recognize normal and abnormal values and model Standards of Behavior in daily interactions
