Opportunity:

Adult Med Surg

Job Details:

* Mixed unit position covering PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Med Surg patients
* Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
* Weekend requirement: every other weekend; Night Shift weekend coverage is Friday and Saturday evenings
* No on-call required
* Floating within service line required, including between Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities as needed
* Float units include: Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, and Observation
* Block scheduling not available
* No local travelers within 50-mile radius
* Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
* Epic charting experience required
* Parking is free
* Schedules are subject to change with two-weeks notice from the facility
* Patient population: adults
* Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, colorectal conditions, GI bleeds/SBO, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
* Procedures and skills include: cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring on the unit, titration of insulin drips, feeding tube care and management, central line care and management, peripheral line care and management, blood product administration, PICC line management, starting IVs, surgical drains, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, wound care and wound vac, and TPN titration
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation

This facility is a Level I trauma center and the largest acute care hospital in the Toledo metropolitan area. The facility operates a 39-bed unit with a comprehensive range of surgical and medical services, including bariatric, hepatobiliary, and colorectal surgery programs.
