Opportunity:
Labor and Delivery Nights
Job Details:
* Night shift position in Labor and Delivery unit
* Every other weekend coverage required
* Patient ratio of 1:3 on nights
* 15-bed unit serving adult patients
* Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
* Travel experience required - first time travelers not accepted
* Basic/intermediate fetal monitoring experience required
* Required certifications in hand at time of submission: BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate
* Must be comfortable with a wide range of Labor and Delivery skills including antepartum care, cesarean section circulating, vaginal delivery assistance, postpartum hemorrhage management, and high-risk delivery support
* Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin/oxytocin, epidural anesthesia, and antihypertensives expected
* Must be proficient with external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
* Experience with pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, and preterm labor management expected
* Ability to draw venous blood, insert and manage Foley catheters, start and maintain IVs, and maintain central lines required
* Must be comfortable with triage of obstetrical patients, NST, VBAC management, and multiple gestation cases
* Self-scheduling unit
* Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs
Facility:
This facility operates a 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit staffed with interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support. The unit maintains structured staffing ratios and self-scheduling to ensure consistent, quality patient care for its adult obstetric population. The facility handles between 100 and 200 births per month and supports a wide range of obstetric procedures and high-risk care needs.
