Job Details:

* Shifts alternate between 6:30 AM?5:00 PM and 9:00 AM?7:30 PM throughout the schedule
* On-call requirement includes 2 weekend (48-hour) call shifts and 14 weekday shifts per 6-week period; weeknight call runs Monday?Friday 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; weekend call runs Saturday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
* Travelers are first to float between two campuses approximately 12 miles apart (15?20 minute drive)
* Missed shifts may be required to be made up during the same week or at the end of the assignment
* Orientation is 6 days: Monday?Friday (8-hour days) with a required return the following Monday for Day 6
* 1 year of recent CVOR experience required
* Cardiovascular scrub experience required; thoracic, vascular, general, and robotic surgery scrub experience is a plus
* Cerner (PowerChart/SurgiNet) charting experience required
* Active New Jersey or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Work settings and equipment include CVOR, General OR, Hybrid OR, and fiber optic light sources/cords
* Cardiac procedures include CABG, TAVR, mitral valve replacement, LVAD/RVAD, atrial septal defect repair, cardiomyoplasty, pericardial window, and laparoscopic cardiac surgery
* Vascular procedures include AAA repair, aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, carotid angioplasty and stenting, EVAR, TEVAR, femoral popliteal bypass graft, arteriovenous fistula repair, atherectomy, and renal artery bypass surgery
* Thoracic procedures include lobe resection, lung resection (thoracotomy), mediastinoscopy, thoracotomy, and VATS
* General procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, robotics, and infection control
* Hospital-provided scrubs
* All RTO, block, and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial submission

Facility:

This facility is a 323-bed hospital and home to a comprehensive cardiothoracic surgery, structural heart, and advanced heart failure program. The Heart & Lung Institute performs advanced cardiac procedures including CABG, valve surgery, and TAVR. The facility operates 13 OR rooms and is part of a regional health system with two hospital campuses. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
