Med Surg Neuro Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position on a 32-bed Medical Surgical Neurology unit
* 36 or 48 hour per week schedule options available - anything over 48 hours is considered overtime
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
* 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
* Float required to like units as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Self-scheduling
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* 1 year of recent Med Surg or Neuro experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Epic charting system used
* Rapid response team activation
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (pending okay)
* CPI preferred
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin, high flow nasal cannula, insulin, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
