Opportunity:

RN - Labor & Delivery (High Risk)

Job Details:

* High risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with all delivery types and 4 operating rooms
* Average daily census of 15 patients per day with 500-600 deliveries per month
* Unit has 31 rooms and 31 beds with schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
* Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum units; may also float to sister facilities for Mother/Baby coverage
* Functions in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continues care of newborn until transfer to Postpartum
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections - hard stop requirement
* Must provide newborn care including eye drops, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments - hard stop requirement
* Administer and manage Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Work with EPIC electronic fetal monitoring - hard stop requirement
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines with 1:2 patient ratios
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Minimum 3 years of experience required; 5 years of high risk experience preferred
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high acuity environment
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 supervisory references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This is a high-volume, high acuity Labor & Delivery facility operating 31 beds across 31 rooms with 4 operating rooms dedicated to obstetric care. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The unit serves a diverse patient population and is committed to delivering evidence-based care following AWHONN guidelines, while supporting clinicians with modern equipment and a collaborative care environment.
