Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
* 2 years of nursing experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred; no local candidates within 50-mile radius
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS
* Patient ratio: 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics
* Float required as long as competencies are met
* Apply nursing process knowledge for patients across age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Document thoroughly as care is delivered following regulatory and hospital requirements
* Manage a broad range of patient diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA care, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin management, ABG interpretation, isolation precautions/PPE, PICC line management, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Utilize good judgment, demonstrate patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
* Must be able to work in a busy and stressful environment while adapting to practice changes
* Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required
* Computer proficiency required including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software

Facility:

This facility is a full-service hospital offering comprehensive inpatient care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. The unit operates with 48 beds and a daily census of 48 patients, supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility maintains high standards for patient safety and clinical excellence.
