Open Position: RN - Pre Op PACU

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2106.68

Opportunity:

RN - Preop Holding/Day Surgery

Job Details:

* Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with consideration given to 4 ten-hour shifts
* Shift start times vary between 5:00 AM, 5:30 AM, 6:00 AM, 6:30 AM, or 7:00 AM depending on surgery schedule
* Typical shift start time is 5:30 AM unless working a closing day
* One closing day required per week - shift runs from 7:00 AM until the last patient leaves
* Additional pay provided after 7:00 PM on closing days
* No weekends or holidays required
* Floating limited exclusively to Day Surgery and Preop Holding units
* Blue scrubs required as dress code
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Equipment used includes cardiac monitors, ultrasound, and EKG machines
* Unit secretaries and technicians available on staff in Day Surgery
* Must have IV start skills and moderate sedation experience
* Must have experience getting surgical patients ready for surgery and providing Phase 2 recovery
* Advanced procedures performed on unit include nerve blocks, arterial lines, central lines, and Swan catheterization

This facility is a large medical center with 472 beds offering comprehensive surgical services including preoperative holding and day surgery. The unit is known for excellent teamwork and is staffed with experienced unit secretaries and technicians to support nursing staff. The facility maintains a strong commitment to patient care and provides a collaborative work environment with no weekend or holiday requirements.
