RRT - Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

* Ohio RRT license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must obtain NRP prior to start date
* High risk delivery experience preferred; candidates without experience must be open to high risk training on site
* Floating required as needed within the Metro Region between Toledo, Flower, and Bay Park Hospitals, including mid-shift floating when needed to ensure all guaranteed hours are worked
* Must be comfortable working with all patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Will assist in pediatrics and with Peds ER patients; specific pediatric hospital experience not required but must be comfortable with basic pediatric respiratory therapy care
* Treats and educates all patient populations with diagnoses including but not limited to asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and non-pulmonary diagnoses
* Performs general and critical care including medication delivery, bronchopulmonary hygiene, hyperinflation therapy, initiation, management, and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation
* Performs airway management and suctioning, cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation assist, extubation, and maintenance of indwelling lines
* Responds to rapid responses and emergency codes and performs CPR
* Performs blood gas sampling and analysis, specimen collection, and spontaneous breathing parameters
* Changing tubing and bags for invasive lines and arterial lines is RRT responsibility on Toledo and Bay Park campuses (preferred experience)
* Work setting experience required: Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department
* Airway management devices and suctioning required: Endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy/suctioning
* Care of patient with bronchoscopy required
* Medication administration required: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Xopenex
* Medication delivery systems required: Aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, metered dose inhaler
* Nebulizer experience required: Hand held, T-piece, trach collar
* Oxygen therapy required: High flow nasal cannula, trach collar
* Ventilator management required: BiPAP, CPAP, weaning from mechanical ventilation
* Professional knowledge and skills required: ABG interpretation
* Equipment experience: Servo I, Avea, Bella Vista
* Epic charting experience required
* Required certifications and licenses: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Ohio RRT license
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Scrub color: Grey
* No local travelers within 50 miles

The organization provides comprehensive adult and pediatric care across 7 adult ICUs with 16 beds each, along with pediatric and adult acute care units.
