Open Position: Lab Specialist - Clinical Lab Scientist

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2668.20

Job Details:

* 4x10-hour variable day shifts with a start time of 9:30 PM, which may flex to 8:00 PM as needed
* Rotating weekends and holidays required - weekends may exceed every other to accommodate unit needs
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Facility may call off once per two-week pay period for guaranteed hours
* No on-call required
* No floating required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required - hard stop
* Seasoned traveler with multiple travel assignments in blood bank required - do not screen first-time travelers
* Blood bank experience required and must be recent/current within the last 2 years - hard stop
* Trauma Level I experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
* Experience in a large hospital (300+ beds) required - hard stop
* Will see 30-50 samples per day with high volume type/screen and crossmatch
* Clinician will work fully independently at night and must be able to work alone with confidence
* Epic charting experience required - hard stop
* Blood bank software experience required (any software) - hard stop
* Wellsky and Immucor Instrumentation experience preferred
* Required certification: ASCP-BB
* Preferred certification: Clinical Immunohematology Scientist
* Key skills include: ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, AHG Crossmatch, Electronic Crossmatch, Transfusion Reaction Workup, Blood Banking Procedures, Antigen Typing, Direct Coombs (DAT), Cord Blood Evaluation, Component Modification, and Immucor Automation/Blood Bank Software
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
* Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
* Free parking available
* Scrub color: Royal Blue

Facility:

This facility is a MAGNET-designated acute care hospital with 426 total staffed beds. It is a high-volume, fast-paced environment where clinical lab specialists can expect to process up to 50 samples per day with a strong focus on blood bank procedures including high-volume type/screen and crossmatch. The facility utilizes Epic Beaker for charting and supports a full range of clinical laboratory and transfusion services.
