Opportunity:

RN - ICU Float Pool

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with 36 or 48 hours per week available
* Float position - will float to ICU, MS/Tele/PCU, Overflow PACU, and Stepdown units as needed
* Weekend shifts required - minimum 6 weekend shifts every 6-week period
* No scheduling requests can be accommodated and no time off requests within the first 2 weeks of assignment
* Maximum of 2 weeks of pre-approved time off allowed
* Self-scheduling environment
* 2 years of ICU experience required
* Travel experience required - first-time travelers must have minimum 2 years ICU experience from a 400-bed or larger facility
* PA Line experience required - hard stop
* Swan Ganz/Pulmonary Artery monitoring experience required - hard stop
* Active California RN license required - no temporary or pending licenses accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* CCRN preferred
* Charting system: Epic
* EKG exam administered on first day of orientation - must pass to proceed with contract
* Flu vaccination required - no exemptions
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV paralytics and neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
* Preferred experience includes: transplant, EVD, CRRT, cardiac, neuro, and trauma
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* 24-bed adult ICU unit
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

This is a large, comprehensive medical center serving as a transplant center with specialized ICU units covering neurology, respiratory failure and ventilator support, acute myocardial infarction, hemodynamic instability, GU/GI, and multi-system organ dysfunction. The facility supports liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, and lung transplant services. The organization provides extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, radiology, and more to deliver high-quality patient care across multiple specialized units.
