Opportunity:

Pharmacy Technician

Job Details:

* 7 days on and 7 days off schedule
* Work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment open 24 hours daily
* IV training and IV competency required
* IV sterile compounding experience preferred or willingness to learn IV sterile compounding
* Distribution tasks include picking and delivering medications to Pyxis machines
* Answer phones and communicate with nursing staff and other licensed personnel
* Use mobile device during shift for rapid communication with nursing staff for missing medications
* Prepack medications into unit dose containers using basic computer skills
* Empty return bins at designated locations daily and perform station inspections
* Check for outdated medications in pharmacy and return medications to stock
* Assist with putting away medication delivery orders from wholesaler
* Work with equipment including IV compounding Laminar Flow Hood, Glove Box, Meditech Expanse, and Pyxis
* Document using Meditech Expanse and IV Compounding 360 Software
* No floating - work exclusively within the pharmacy
* Good communication skills required for interacting with nursing and licensed staff
* Required certifications: National Technician Certification and NH state license
* Dress code: Hospital or personal scrubs with plain shirts (no writing or endorsements) and sturdy closed-toe shoes required due to extensive walking

Facility:

This facility is a 240-bed Level II Trauma Center with a typical census of 170-200 patients. The pharmacy operates 24 hours daily and features a collaborative, close-knit team with a mix of long-tenured employees and newer staff. The department offers a PGY1 residency program and continuing education opportunities for staff including technicians. Pharmacists work in a decentralized model, operating on nursing units daily while a core staff maintains pharmacy operations.
