RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Details:

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required; 5 years of high-risk experience preferred
* Experience in high acuity and high-paced environment required
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Float required between Postpartum, Antepartum, and sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
* May also float to NICU as an extra set of helping hands or serve as a sitter as needed
* Functions in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continues care of the newborn until transfer to Postpartum
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections hard stop requirement
* Must provide newborn care including eye drops, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments hard stop requirement
* Must be proficient with Epic electronic fetal monitoring hard stop requirement
* High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 4 ORs and an average daily census of 15 patients
* Average of 500?600 deliveries per month; 31 rooms and 31 beds
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Required to administer Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
* Patient ratio: 1:2
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 supervisory references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This high-volume, high-risk Labor & Delivery facility operates with 31 beds and 4 operating rooms, delivering 500?600 babies per month. The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services. The facility follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and utilizes Epic for electronic fetal monitoring, reflecting a strong commitment to evidence-based, high-quality maternal and newborn care.
