Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with mid shifts having varied start times between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and night shifts with varied start times between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
* On-call requirement of one day per month, potentially two days per month depending on call team rotation; call schedule provided at least 3 days in advance to sign up before being assigned
* Schedule made out at least 2 weeks in advance with self-scheduling by seniority
* 28-bed emergency department with 4 fast track beds, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Common diagnoses and patient types include trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric patients with approximately 155 patients per day
* Level II trauma center experience or above required
* Must have experience working in a high-volume, high-acuity emergency room setting
* Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required; travel experience preferred
* Candidates will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site on day one - this is a PASS/FAIL test
* Charting system: Cerner
* Telemetry system: GE
* Ventilator experience required
* EMT tech support available, including one EMT per shift and a mid-shift EMT
* Charge nurses do not take patient assignments
* No floating required
* Floor-specific orientation of 2 to 3 shifts
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 28-bed emergency department equipped with fast track beds, trauma bays, and hallway beds to accommodate a high volume of patients. The facility provides 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage, along with round-the-clock respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. The emergency department handles a wide range of complex cases including trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric patients, and is supported by EMT technicians on every shift.
