Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with multiple possible start times: Days at 7:00 AM, Mids/Eves at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, or 3:00 PM, and Nights at 7:00 PM
* 6-week scheduling cycles with every other weekend rotation
* Holiday expectations every other or 50% of holidays
* Request time off approved up to 5 days
* Patient ratio of 1:4; fast track ratio of 1:6 as team nurse with RN and NP
* Care for a wide range of patients including neonates through geriatrics, 25% pediatric patients, walk-in traumas, and patients with cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, and psych conditions
* Provide care to intubated patients including ventilator and BiPAP management (no respiratory therapists on site; training provided during onboarding)
* Mix own medications under pharmacy supervision via video conference (no on-site pharmacy)
* Required to perform charge nurse duties (facility will train if needed)
* Strong ED experience required with minimum 2 full years of ER experience at any trauma level
* Skills required include chest tubes, central lines, strong IV skills, and medication administration
* No floating between units
* Charting system: EPIC; Equipment: Alaris and Pyxis
* Any scrub color permitted; free parking available
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Advanced NRP, NIHSS, TNCC
* Traveler Telemetry Competency required to be completed and passed prior to start

Facility:

This is a brand-new, off-campus emergency department open 24/7, featuring 8-10 beds in a small acute care setting. The facility supports a diverse patient population and is equipped with modern technology including EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis systems. The unit is supported by charge nurses, ED physicians, ER techs, front desk staff, and EST/phlebotomy assistance, and provides a collaborative team environment for traveling healthcare professionals.
