Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
* Day shifts with 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
* Holiday rotation required - must work 2 of 3 major holidays
* First to float when needed
* Patient ratio of 1 to 4
* Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry experience required (within the past 6 months)
* Must have strong cardiac telemetry background and ability to decrease cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters
* Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips independently - no monitor tech available
* Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer via RELIAS (maximum 2 attempts)
* Must pass a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation (study guides provided)
* Will care for ED hold patients waiting for placement on a unit, primarily medical/surgical telemetry patients
* Common titratable drips include Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
* May assist with ED patients including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration - will not be primary RN for ED patient assignments
* Float responsibilities to med/surg/tele/overflow units and other campus EDs as needed
* No ventilators - RT equipment limited to CPAP and BiPap
* ED PCTs available on unit
* No on-call requirement
* Scrub color: Navy
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA or APEX)

This acute care facility operates at a Trauma Level 1 designation, reflecting its capability to handle the most critical and complex patient cases. The facility maintains a robust emergency department with 60 ED beds at its primary campus and 31 ED beds at its secondary campus. The organization supports a collaborative care environment with ED charge nurses and patient care technicians available to support the nursing team.
