NICU RN
Job Details:
* Night and day shift positions available with variable weekend requirements
* Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
* 48-hour shifts approved
* No on-call required
* Float required between all units; only patients under the age of 2 on pediatric units - travelers float first
* Weekend coverage every other weekend or as needed
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Charting system: Epic experience required
* Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required; at least 1 year required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Required skills include but are not limited to: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line care, developmental care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, high frequency ventilation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, nitric oxide, oscillators, therapeutic hypothermia, tracheostomy care, UAC/UVC management, and ventilator management
* Care for neonates including those under 29 weeks, 29?34 weeks, and 34+ weeks gestation
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and unit secretary
* Ventilators managed by respiratory therapy

This is a short-term acute care facility and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. The facility operates as a teaching hospital with 629 total staffed beds. The NICU unit consists of 61 beds with a daily census of approximately 52 patients. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support and advanced neonatal care services.
