Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with options for day shift (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
* Self-scheduling utilized with schedules posted 4 weeks prior to the start of each four-week schedule block
* Shifts are first come first served and requested shifts may be moved to ensure adequate staffing
* 3 weekend shifts required per schedule period; day shift weekends are Saturday/Sunday, night shift weekends are Friday/Saturday
* Holiday rotation required - must work 2 major Winter holidays and 1 major Summer holiday
* Standby shifts are required in alignment with standard staff expectations
* Floating within service line and overflow areas required; travelers float first
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1
* Work on a 29-bed unit with all private rooms
* Care for patients with renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health diagnoses
* EKG competency and cardiac monitoring experience required including groin management
* Manage drips including Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Cardizem (no titration required)
* Required to interpret cardiac monitor strips and identify rhythm changes using GE Cardiac Monitors (Remote Monitor Techs available)
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7; RNs administer all breathing treatments
* Unit supports up to 6L oxygen only - no high flow or BiPAP; CPAP available for non-obstructive sleep apnea only
* Nurse aides available on day shift only; night shift is primary patient care at 4:1 assignment
* Charge nurse without assignment on both day and night shifts; House Supervisors and leader on call in house 24/7
* 2 orientation shifts with a preceptor required
* Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer through UNA (maximum 2 attempts)
* Must pass a PASS/FAIL Simulation Lab on day 1 of orientation
* Cannot live within 50 miles of the facility; driver's license must be provided with submittal
* Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; no t-shirts; closed-toe shoes required
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ECG Pass/Fail Required
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

The telemetry unit is a 29-bed all-private-room unit supported by remote monitoring technicians, 24/7 house supervision, and respiratory therapy.
