Job Details:

* Day shift position with variable weekend schedule required (every other weekend)
* Minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per contract
* Patient ratio of 2:1 during days and nights
* Rotate through Labor & Delivery, circulator, baby RN, triage, and high-risk antepartum/postpartum
* No on-call requirements
* No scheduling requests can be accommodated - traveler must be flexible
* Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required (first-time travelers must have minimum 3 years L&D RN experience)
* High-risk antepartum and teaching hospital experience required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
* Must have active California nursing license in hand at time of submission - no pending or temporary licenses accepted
* 2 supervisor-level references from within the past 1 year of employment required at time of submission
* Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season
* Key skills include: high-risk antepartum care, cesarean section support, fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, magnesium sulfate therapy, hemorrhage/shock management, triage of obstetrical patients, and VBAC management
* Special equipment experience required: Cysto tower operations
* Unit includes 22 L&D rooms, 4 ORs, 3 PACU bays, 4 triage rooms, and 12 MFCU high-risk antepartum beds
* Daily census ranges from 15 to 20 patients
* Patients served include neonates, adolescents, and adults (women ages 13-60)

This is a large, high-volume teaching hospital with a robust Labor & Delivery unit performing over 300 deliveries per month. The facility specializes in high-risk obstetrical care and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services. The unit handles complex cases including high-risk vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C procedures, and multiples, supported by advanced monitoring and surgical capabilities.
