2S Med Rehab RN
Job Details:
* 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week - discuss with manager at time of interview
* Weekday, every other weekend schedule with float requirement within scope to meet facility needs
* 24-bed Medical Rehabilitation unit specializing in cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputees, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases
* Patient diagnoses include SCI, TBI, stroke, amputation, neuromuscular disorders, and severe deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Patient ratios: Days 1:4/5, Nights 1:5/6
* Each patient has an assigned care team including a physiatrist, NP, nurse, therapists, and social worker collaborating on individualized care plans
* Therapy works with patients 3 hours per day Monday through Friday with an average length of stay of approximately 2 weeks
* No on-call requirement
* Block schedule requests may be accommodated - discuss during interview
* Charting system: Cerner experience required
* Scrub color: Royal Blue/White or combination
* Parking garage is free for travelers
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA required); acute care rehab certification preferred
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; minimum 1 year of in-specialty experience required
* Charge nurse experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
* WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
* Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
* Orientation held every other Thursday

This facility is a short-term acute care, Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital with 855 total staffed beds. As a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH), the facility offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary support network including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support.
